Saudi Air Defenses Intercept Four Drones and Two Missiles

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defense announced that air defenses intercepted four drones and one ballistic missile across multiple regions, while a second missile landed outside residential areas with no casualties.

One drone was shot down in the northern border region and three others were neutralized in eastern areas of the kingdom, according to Anadolu Agency.

In Riyadh, two ballistic missiles were detected; one was intercepted by air defense systems and the second fell outside populated zones, causing no harm.

The incidents follow repeated air attacks on Saudi Arabia since the United States and Israel began military actions against Iran on February 28. The kingdom considers Iran's attacks on Gulf states a violation of international law.

Saudi Foreign Minister warned that Iran's assumption Gulf countries cannot respond represents a miscalculation. So far, Saudi Arabia has intercepted dozens of drones and missiles while striving to protect civilian areas and critical infrastructure.

The kingdom relies on advanced air defense systems, including Patriot and THAAD batteries, to safeguard its cities and oil facilities from regional threats.

Tensions in the Gulf have heightened amid ongoing conflicts involving Iran, the United States, Israel and their allies, turning the region into a hotspot for military escalation and risks to civilians.
