Russian President Vladimir Putin stated at a meeting of the Federal Security Service (FSB) board of directors that Russia's "enemies" are aware of the consequences of using nuclear weapons and that any such attempt would be catastrophic.

According to a TASS report on Tuesday night, February 24, Putin highlighted Russia's encouraging achievements in defensive and civilian sectors, some of which have not yet been publicly disclosed.

Putin instructed the FSB to protect Ministry of Defense officials, military industry representatives, government officials, media activists and volunteers. He called for increased FSB activities against terrorism, espionage and divisive efforts.

He further emphasized strengthening border security, supporting Russian businesses amid sanctions, preventing cyber attacks and ensuring the 2026 Duma elections proceed legally without foreign interference.

Putin added that "enemies" are attempting to disrupt the peace process in Ukraine negotiations. He noted threats to critical infrastructure, including the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines in the Black Sea.
