The US Department of Defense stated that approximately 140 US military personnel were wounded during clashes with Iran.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement that the vast majority of the injuries were minor and that 108 of the wounded have already returned to duty. He added that eight US service members were seriously wounded.

White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt provided similar figures during a press briefing, describing a prior Reuters report of 150 wounded US soldiers as accurate.

Democratic US Senator Richard Blumenthal, after attending a briefing on the Iran conflict, expressed strong dissatisfaction with the information presented. "Honestly, I left this briefing dissatisfied and angry; as in my 15 years in the Senate, I have never felt this way from any briefing," Blumenthal said.

He stated that the session left more questions than answers, particularly regarding the costs of the war and its consequences. Blumenthal warned of the risk of deeper US involvement, saying, "It seems we are on the path to deploying US forces in Iran."

The senator also voiced concerns about potential support for Iran from other nations, noting that "the specter of active Russian assistance to Iran exists" and that China might aid Tehran. He said such involvement could endanger US troops.

Blumenthal emphasized that the American public should be informed about the war's costs, risks to service members and the potential for escalation, urging the government to provide more details.
