Pakistan Arrests Taliban Member Accused of Killing Two Border Security Personnel

QUETTA, Pakistan -- Pakistani authorities have arrested a 20-year-old Taliban member from Paktika province in Afghanistan accused of killing two border security personnel.

Hamza Shafqat, a senior police official in Balochistan near Quetta, announced the arrest of Habibullah, known by the alias "Lalu." Shafqat said the suspect's brother was a commander in the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

According to officials, Habibullah was previously arrested and released after a month due to misidentification as a civilian. He then resumed activities targeting Pakistani forces along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

A video posted on the Balochistan Interior Minister's X page shows Habibullah confessing to operating under the nom de guerre "Muslim" and attacking Pakistani forces. The minister stated that Afghan citizens have been involved in several terrorist attacks in the province.

The minister warned that attempts to destabilize Pakistan from Afghan soil will face a decisive response.
