Over 2,000 Children Injured in US-Israeli Strikes on Iran Since Late February, Official Says

TEHRAN (Afghan Verified) -- More than 2,000 children under 18 have been injured in US-Israeli strikes on Iran since February 28, Jafar Miadfar, director of Iran's Emergency Medical Services Organisation, said.

Miadfar reported 2,115 children injured and 221 killed in the attacks. Among the injured children, 124 were under age 5 and 70 were under 2 years old. He said 18 children under 5 were among those killed.

The official also stated that 258 women were killed and 4,993 injured, noting that none of the female victims were involved in military activities. In addition, 26 health workers were killed.

The highest number of casualties occurred in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, Lorestan, Isfahan, Kermanshah and Ilam, according to Miadfar.

The US-Israeli attacks began on February 28, followed by Iranian retaliation and clashes. A two-week ceasefire was agreed upon last week, but talks between the US and Iran in Islamabad on Saturday concluded without an agreement.
