Nearly 35 Tons of Smuggled Goods Seized in Helmand

Officials from Helmand's Subordinate Customs Department seized nearly 35 tons of smuggled goods from a warehouse in the Garshak district. Haji Haqmal, head of Helmand's Subordinate Customs, told Bakhtar News Agency that the warehouse was used by smugglers to store items brought in illegally to avoid customs duties.

The confiscated goods weighed 34,935 kilograms and included 33,458 kg of medicine, 160 kg of biscuits, 610 kg of flour and 707 kg of ghee.

In Nimroz province, security officials in Chaharborjak district destroyed more than 7 tons of previously seized smuggled goods. Mawlavi Gul Mohammad Qudrat, spokesperson for the Nimroz Police Command, said the items included medicine, chocolate, powdered milk and other goods.

The destruction was carried out under the supervision of the district's primary court, with oversight from judicial, civilian and military officials to ensure transparency.
