The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has finalized agreements for two distinct mining initiatives.

One contract covers the establishment of a cement production facility in Samangan province. It was signed with the Ibak Cement company for operations in the Firoz Nakhchir district. The total investment reaches sixty seven million dollars for a duration of thirty years. Daily production is projected at one thousand two hundred tons. This venture is anticipated to provide jobs to roughly six hundred people. Additional obligations include a royalty payment of two hundred Afghanis per ton and an expenditure of one million dollars on social services initiatives.

The second agreement pertains to gold extraction activities in Khost province. It involves the Javed Khan Niazi Mining and Processing Commercial Company and targets a site in the Surkani area of Shamal district. The contract period is five years, encompassing an area of zero point six one eight five zero three square kilometers. The committed investment amounts to eight hundred two point four seven six million Afghanis. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is slated to receive a sixty percent share from the operations.
