Canal Digging Work Begins in Farah at Cost of Nearly Three Million Afghanis

Canal digging has started in the Piu Pasaw area of Khaksafid district in Farah province.
The project costs nearly 3 million Afghanis, with 2.7 million Afghanis funded by local people. The canal measures 330 meters in length and 6 meters in width.
Upon completion, the canal will irrigate agricultural lands in the villages of Nang Abad, Ghorchi, Khoshkaba, Ranj, Piu Pasaw, Karizono, Karghan and Islam Abad. It is also expected to resolve local water supply issues.
Residents Shah Mohammad Khadem and Mohammad Ismail Bawari have described the project as an example of unity and cooperation. The head of information and culture, Mohammad Abdul Hai Sabawun, confirmed details of the work. Similar projects have been implemented recently in other areas of the province.
