Kabul (Afghan Verified) - The Ministry of Information and Culture organized a celebration marking the descent of the Holy Quran along with an exhibition of Islamic artistic works in Kabul.

Participants included Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Culture and Arts; Mufti Mohammad Taher Kohbandi, Head of the General Directorate for Preservation of Jihadist Works; heads of the ministry; scholars; Quran memorizers; professors; cultural figures; writers; journalists; and media representatives.

Officials stated the event aimed to commemorate the descent of the Holy Quran, strengthen Muslims' bond with the book, promote Quranic culture, familiarize people with its teachings and precepts, and draw guidance from it in daily life.

The Head of Public Culture described the Holy Quran as the book of monotheism and a guide for humanity, emphasizing its safeguarding as a collective responsibility. He noted that the Public Culture Directorate works to promote Islamic and Afghan culture.

Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi highlighted the spiritual value of the Holy Quran, the blessed month of Ramadan, and the Night of Power, equating the latter to a thousand months in reward.

Mufti Mohammad Taher Kohbandi called the Holy Quran a doubt-free guide for the pious, revealed in Ramadan on the Night of Power. He said such programs raise public awareness and bolster religious knowledge among Muslims.

Dr. Rafiullah Samim, Head of Public Libraries, noted that despite the peak of poetry and eloquence at the time of its descent, no one could match the Quran's text. He shared details on various Quranic interpretations.

Quran memorizers performed recitations, and attendees visited the exhibition of Islamic artistic works.
