Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Ministry Helps 13 Women Regain Sharia Rights
The Ministry of Amr bil Maruf, Nahi anil Munkar, and Hearing Complaints of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan announced that its muhtasibs helped 13 women regain their rights under Sharia.
The women were assisted in Maidan Wardak, Nimroz, Kunduz, Takhar, Faryab, and Helmand provinces after being deprived of their Sharia rights due to domestic violence and harmful customs. The ministry said the women had been tortured for a long time based on these harmful customs before its officials rescued them.
Provincial officials of the ministry hold reformatory meetings with locals to promote awareness of women's Sharia rights. The ministry stated that these sessions have resulted in noticeable positive changes.
The announcement detailed how the intervention of ministry muhtasibs enabled the restoration of rights in these six provinces. Officials emphasized ongoing community engagements aimed at addressing issues stemming from domestic violence and harmful traditional practices.
Such efforts form part of the ministry's continued work to hear complaints and ensure Sharia rights for women are upheld. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ministry indicated that its activities are fostering improved conditions through sustained public outreach and reformatory initiatives.
