Islamic Emirate Foreign Minister Meets China's Special Representative

Mullah Amir Khan Muttaqi, foreign minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met with Yu Xiaoyong, China's special representative for Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the two sides discussed expanding bilateral relations between Kabul and Beijing, as well as recent regional developments.

Muttaqi referred to recent tensions with Pakistan, emphasizing that the Islamic Emirate prioritizes peaceful resolution of problems over war but considers the defense of its soil and people a right.

The foreign minister described relations between Afghanistan and China as positive and expressed hope for expanding and implementing ties in various sectors.

Yu Xiaoyong conveyed sympathy from the Chinese government to the families of Afghans martyred in recent Pakistani attacks. He stated that Beijing is working to reduce tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
