Islamic Emirate Exempts Fees for Citizenship Card Verification
The National Statistics and Information Authority announced that, based on an order from the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, fees for verifying citizenship cards, known as tazkiras, have been exempted. From now on, no charges will be applied for this service.
The authority added that unintentional errors by staff or incorrect information entered in citizenship cards can now be corrected without any fees, provided they are verified by relevant officials.
As the sole authority responsible for verifying the identity of Afghans both inside and outside the country, the National Statistics and Information Authority reaffirmed its commitment to delivering services quickly, on time, and in a balanced manner to citizens.
This policy change aims to ease access to essential identity verification services for Afghan citizens.
