The district governor of Taybad in Iran announced that border forces rescued 300 Afghan citizens who were trapped at the Dogharoun border crossing following heavy rain and a sharp drop in temperature.

The official stated that the individuals were detected attempting illegal entry through difficult terrain and were saved through the efforts of armed forces stationed in northeast Iran. Medical and welfare services were provided, including hot meals and transfer to designated shelters to improve their condition.

After completing treatment, the Afghans will be handed over to the Taliban, according to the report. The district governor emphasized the need for Taliban cooperation to prevent unauthorized crossings, noting that shared borders are unsafe for illegal entry and that intruders will face legal action.

This incident follows a previous rescue operation in the month of Qaus, when Iranian border forces saved 210 Afghan citizens trapped in snow and blizzards at the border.
