Former Afghan Taekwondo National Athlete Habib-Jaan Arab Dies

KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- The Afghanistan Taekwondo Federation announced the death of former national team member Habib-Jaan Arab, describing him as a committed athlete who brought pride to the team.

In a press release, the federation said Arab's passing represents a great loss to the Afghan sports family and the country's taekwondo community. He had served on the national taekwondo team for more than one year, during which he drew attention for his brilliant performances.

Media reports stated that Arab died on Sunday from illness in Takhar province. The federation did not provide details on the cause of death in its announcement.
