The sixth and final weekly winter training session for nurturing top taekwondo talents took place in Kabul. The joint training, aimed at identifying, preparing and elevating the technical level of elite athletes, involved top taekwondo practitioners from various age groups and members of the national teams.

Mohammad Bashir Taraki, head coach of Afghanistan's adult national taekwondo team, expressed satisfaction with the six-week program's progress, noting it concluded without any injuries to participants. In a Facebook post, Taraki stated the camp sought to transfer valuable experiences from international competitions, improve athletes' technical skills and strengthen their national spirit and sense of responsibility.

Taraki added that the period's achievements demonstrate that when wills align and hearts beat for the country's glory, obstacles are overcome one by one.

The program, which began six weeks earlier in the national teams' training hall of the Taekwondo Federation, included athletes from the national youth and junior teams, international medalists and the country's top taekwondo practitioners. Trainings were supervised by the adult national team's technical staff.

Prior to the start, the Afghanistan Taekwondo Federation emphasized in a statement that participation in such joint programs holds special importance for athletes aspiring to international podiums.

Officials from the ITF Afghanistan Taekwondo Federation stated that raising the technical and professional level of the sport domestically is a primary goal. They said growth in athletes' and coaches' abilities would enable stronger Afghan representation in international competitions.

The federation stressed that educational programs, technical exams and issuance of valid international certificates play a key role in the sustainable development of ITF taekwondo in Afghanistan, aiding the identification and nurturing of top talents.
