Afghanistan's national cricket team lost to South Africa by four runs in their second T20 World Cup group-stage match on Wednesday in Ahmedabad, India.

South Africa batted first and scored 188 runs for six wickets in 20 overs, setting the target for Afghanistan.

Afghanistan replied with 188 runs, losing all 10 wickets, to tie the match and force a Super Over.

In the first Super Over, Afghanistan scored 18 runs. South Africa matched the total, leading to a second Super Over.

South Africa batted first in the second Super Over and posted 24 runs. Afghanistan, chasing the target, fell short by four runs despite an impressive performance by Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

The match was described as one of the most exciting in the tournament.

Afghanistan will play the United Arab Emirates in their next group-stage match on June 16.
