Commerce Minister Azizi Highlights Economic Growth Under Islamic Emirate at Kabul Exhibition
KABUL — Nooruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce, stated that Afghanistan under the management of the Islamic Emirate is advancing daily toward economic growth and prosperity.
Azizi made the comments Thursday at the opening ceremony of the Third International Exhibition of Construction, Urban Development, and Reconstruction in Kabul.
"The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, through proper management of natural resources and human capacities, has been placed on the path of economic growth and prosperity. With each passing day, by the grace of Almighty God, Afghanistan is moving toward development and industrialization," Azizi said.
He said the country has achieved self-sufficiency in most construction materials and that 160,000 hectares of land have been allocated for investment and industrial parks.
Azizi pointed to progress on major regional projects including the TAPI pipeline and called on countries, particularly Pakistan, to cooperate in facilitating trade routes.
The exhibition includes 300 booths showcasing construction industry sectors, materials, machinery, financial and banking services, and domestic products.
