CIS Warns Afghanistan's Instability Threatens Central Asian Border Security
G OLESTAN, Tajikistan (Afghan Verified) — The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) held its ninth regional meeting of heads of border agencies on 19 Hamal in Golestan, Tajikistan.
Delegations from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan participated in the gathering.
CIS participants stated that Afghanistan's unstable military-political and economic situation will have destructive impacts on Central Asian border security.
The meeting concluded with the development of practical measures to maintain a stable situation on external borders.
Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, in his closing speech at the 'Afghanistan and Central Asia Consultative Meeting' in Kabul, assured that the Taliban will not allow anyone to use Afghan soil against regional countries. He urged the world to take this stance seriously.
