Afghan Forces Seize Weapons, Ammunition and Narcotics Smuggled from Pakistan
KABUL (Afghan Verified) — Forces from Afghanistan's 201 Khalid bin Walid Corps seized weapons, ammunition and narcotic substances being smuggled into the country from Pakistan.
The seizure included 20 kg of opium, according to reports from Hurriyat and Omid Radio. Hurriyat, citing the National Defense Ministry, reported that the haul also comprised 13,000 rifles and 10 cartons of pistols. Omid Radio gave differing details, stating that 13 pistols and 10 cartons of hashish were seized in Nangarhar province.
Hurriyat further noted that the same corps had previously seized more than 500,000 weapons smuggled from Pakistan.
The operation underscores ongoing efforts by Afghan border forces to intercept arms and drugs crossings from the neighboring country, though exact quantities of the weapons recovered remain in dispute between the two outlets.
