Pakistani media reported a car bomb attack on a military base in the Malangi area of Momand district, Bajaur, in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The target was a religious school that previously served as a hideout for affiliates of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and is now controlled by Pakistani security forces and police.

Initial reports stated that at least two children were killed and three others seriously injured in the blast. Eyewitnesses told Pakistani media that the death toll could rise.

A Pakistani official described the incident to local media as "a suicide attack with a vehicle on a madrasa that was previously a hideout for Taliban affiliates and is now under the control of security forces and police."

The media outlets reported that the base's building was completely destroyed, with rescue efforts underway to extract people from the rubble. Following the explosion, intense gunfire involving light and heavy weapons occurred in the area.

Pakistani officials stated that the shooting has ended and that six soldiers have been pulled from the debris. TTP has not issued any statement regarding the attack, its target, or the casualties.
