Amnesty International Demands Probe into Alleged Pakistani Attack on Kabul Drug Treatment Hospital
Amnesty International has demanded immediate accountability from Pakistan over an alleged attack on the 2,000-bed Hope addicts' treatment hospital in eastern Kabul.
The rights organization called for Pakistani authorities to explain the strike and urged an independent, impartial and swift investigation into the circumstances and civilian casualties, with results to be published publicly.
According to Amnesty International, more than 400 people were killed and more than 250 wounded in the attack, with victims including addicts under treatment and medical staff at the facility.
Amnesty International described the incident as a serious human rights concern and a violation of international humanitarian law.
