Afghanistan's Ministry of Transport Issues Licenses to 185 New Companies in Past Solar Year
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- Afghanistan's Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation issued licenses to 115 cargo-carrying and 70 passenger-carrying transport companies during the past solar year 1404.
The ministry provided this information in a statement sent to media outlets. It brings the total number of active transport companies operating throughout the country to 900. These companies provide services in the transportation of passengers and commercial goods.
The ministry also conducted technical inspections on 86,000 passenger-carrying and cargo-carrying vehicles at all depots and terminals during the past year. The inspections were carried out for the purpose of ensuring safe travel and standardizing transport vehicles.
The developments reflect ongoing efforts by the ministry to regulate and expand the transport sector, which plays a key role in moving people and goods across Afghanistan.
