Afghanistan Installs GPS Devices in 20,222 Transport Vehicles in Solar Year 1404, Total Reaches Around 40,000
KABUL (Afghan Verified) — The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation of Afghanistan announced that 20,222 transport vehicles received GPS devices during solar year 1404, bringing the nationwide total to around 40,000 passenger and cargo vehicles.
The ministry stated that installations continue regularly across the country. Officials said the effort aims to enhance security for commercial goods and passengers.
According to the announcement, the process of fitting vehicles with tracking devices is ongoing, reflecting accelerated measures to protect transportation networks.
Solar year 1404 corresponds to the Afghan calendar period ending around March 2025 in the Gregorian calendar.
