KABUL — The Ministry of National Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan unveiled a new uniform for the country’s armed forces, including commandos, border police and troops, and the Afghan National Army, also referred to as the National Islamic Army.

The unveiling took place during a special ceremony on Monday at the ministry’s headquarters in Kabul. The event was attended by Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Qari Mohammad Fasihuddin Fitrat, senior ministry officials, and commanders of central units.

Qari Fasihuddin said the new uniform is designed to reinforce order, discipline, and a unified identity among personnel. “This new uniform symbolizes unity and solidarity of our armed forces,” he said. “All those joining the ranks must see defending the country as their primary responsibility and commitment. Uniforms are being distributed to ensure order, discipline, and to foster a unified identity among the forces.” He emphasized that discipline must be strictly observed.

Enayatullah Khwarazmi, also spelled Khowarzmi, head of strategic information and publications, or director of strategic communications and publications, at the ministry, highlighted the importance of professionalism, ethical conduct, strong willpower, high moral standards, and adherence to military principles.

“Every soldier must have strong willpower, high moral standards, and strict adherence to military principles. Forces must remain resolute against enemies while serving the people with integrity and responsibility,” he said. “Every military officer must possess strong determination and high-level thinking; be resolute and firm against the country’s enemies, and act with integrity and responsibility towards the people.”

Ministry officials stated that the new uniform represents discipline, cohesion, and a unified identity, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen these qualities among Afghanistan’s defense forces.
