Afghanistan-Sri Lanka T20 and ODI series postponed
The Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced the postponement of three Twenty20 (T20) matches and three One-Day International (ODI) matches between the national cricket teams of Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
The series was originally scheduled for March 13 to 25, corresponding to 22 Hoot to 5 Hamal 1405 in the solar calendar, in the United Arab Emirates. The board cited logistical problems, flight restrictions, and the current regional situation as reasons for the delay.
Afghanistan Cricket Board officials were in close contact with the UAE Cricket Board and officials at cricket stadiums in Sharjah and Dubai. After several rounds of consultations, the decision was made to postpone the matches to the last three months of 2026.
The board stated that the exact dates for the rescheduled series will be announced in the future.
