Afghan man pleads guilty to kidnapping, rape charges in UK court
Najibullah Arab, a 39-year-old Afghan man, appeared in Oxford Crown Court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to charges including kidnapping, rape and sexual assault against women.
Court reports indicate Arab was charged in connection with a sexual harassment incident on January 21. He also faced charges related to the sexual assault, rape and kidnapping of another woman on January 27 this year.
Arab initially denied the kidnapping charge but ultimately confessed to all counts. According to the police report, he forcibly dragged a woman from an alley and took her to a farm.
Senior investigating officer Stuart May praised the victims' courage in reporting the crimes. He stated that police take reports of sexual offenses, particularly violence against women and girls, very seriously.
May added that Arab's confession demonstrates the strength of the evidence gathered by police. He emphasized that officers are committed to protecting the public and bringing offenders to justice.
Arab is scheduled to be formally sentenced on a later date.
