Iranian and Indian Foreign Ministers Hold Phone Call on Regional Developments and Global Security

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi held a telephone conversation with his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, to discuss the latest regional and international developments.

According to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' X account, Araqchi informed Jaishankar about the situation stemming from "aggressions and crimes committed by America and the Zionist regime against Iran" and their implications for regional and global stability and security. He emphasized Iran's firm resolve to exercise its legitimate right to self-defense against aggressors.

Araqchi called for international and regional organizations to condemn the military aggression against Iran. He highlighted BRICS' role as a forum for multilateral cooperation, urging it to play a constructive part in supporting regional and global stability and security at this juncture.

Jaishankar expressed India's readiness to expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation in regional and international forums. He stressed the importance of finding ways to bolster lasting stability and security in the region as a shared necessity.
