Maqbool Shah Momand claimed the gold medal in the kata category with a dominant performance. Zarstan Khan Gardiowal secured the silver medal in the same category. In the kumite category, Omar Momand won bronze in the 60-kilogram weight class, bringing the team's total to three medals.
The three-member Afghan delegation achieved a notable position in the medal standings.
Team officials stated that due to changes in flight schedules and regional tensions, the return journey from Moscow has been routed through Istanbul, with the athletes expected to arrive in Kabul soon.
