
Afghan Forces Rescue Residents Stranded by Floods in Helmand's Kajaki District
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — Members of the 1502 Pli Mansouri Brigade, affiliated with the 215 Azm Corps, rescued residents stranded in floods in Kajaki district of Helmand province.
The 215 Azm Corps announced on its X page that the operation was led by Mullah Siddiqullah Nurani, head of the Fourth Support Kandak of the 1502 Pli Mansouri Brigade.
Afghan defense forces have also conducted rescue operations for compatriots stranded in flood-affected areas across various parts of Helmand province following recent rains.
The rescues come amid heavy rains that have caused flooding in the southern province, with the brigade's efforts focusing on Kajaki district where people were cut off by rising waters.
No casualties or further details on the number of people rescued were reported in the corps' statement.
