
15 Injured as Car Strikes Participants at Louisiana Lao New Year Parade
NEW IBERIA, Louisiana (Afghan Verified) -- Around 15 people were injured when a car struck participants at a Lao New Year parade in New Iberia, Iberia Parish, Louisiana, on Saturday.
The incident occurred during the annual Lao New Year celebrations. Some of the injured were reported to be in serious condition.
The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office stated that preliminary findings indicate the crash was not intentional and showed no signs of a targeted attack.
Ten ambulances and two medical helicopters were dispatched to the scene to treat and transport the injured.
Authorities have not released further details on the circumstances leading to the crash or the condition of the driver.
