How We Verify Individual Stories
Not every article from these sources automatically appears on AfghanVerified. Each piece goes through our verification process where our team:
- Cross-references claims with other sources
- Checks for official statements or documentation
- Verifies images and videos haven't been manipulated or misattributed
- Assesses the logical consistency of the story
- Assigns reliability scores based on verifiability (named sources, specific details, documentary evidence)
This means even reliable sources receive individual story verification before publication. We evaluate each article on its own merit, not the outlet's reputation.
