Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he met with Reza Pahlavi, the exiled Crown Prince of Iran, in Munich. Zelensky stated on X that Ukraine supports the Iranian people in their struggle for their future and sympathizes with all victims of what he called the Iranian "regime."

During the meeting, the two discussed the importance of intensifying sanctions against the Iranian regime. They condemned cooperation between Russia and Iran, including Iran's supply of Shahed drones to Russia and the transfer of production licenses. Zelensky described such collaboration as a real threat not only to Ukraine but to the entire region.

Zelensky wrote: "Ukraine supports the Iranian people in their struggle for their future and we sympathize with all victims of the Iranian regime. During the conversation, attention was paid to the situation in Iran and the areas where the Iranian people need support."

He expressed gratitude to Pahlavi for supporting Ukraine's territorial integrity, adding: "It is important to do everything to preserve human lives. Ukraine is also ready to help in this regard."

Previously, Zelensky had supported anti-government protests in Iran that resulted in thousands of deaths, drawing reactions from Iranian government officials.
