Walls Built by Associates of Taliban Communications Minister Demolished in Lashkar Gah

Justice Minister Abdul Hakim Shari ordered the demolition of walls that had been erected on seized government land in Lashkar Gah. The minister serves as the head of the Commission for the Prevention of Land Usurpation. The land is located in the green zone of the Helmand Agriculture Directorate.

The seized area covers roughly seven jeribs. Individuals associated with the Taliban Minister of Communications Abdul Ahad Fazli were behind the construction of the walls. Reports indicate that the land was being prepared for division into residential plots that could be sold to buyers.

Local residents in the third district of Lashkar Gah expressed strong opposition to the land seizure. They submitted formal complaints to the office of Hibatullah Akhundzada. Additional complaints were directed to the High Commission for Prevention of Land Usurpation.

The value of land in the area is significant. A plot measuring four biswa is estimated to be worth around 60,000 dollars. Construction work took place during nighttime hours. It was carried out by a team led by Sharafuddin with the involvement of provincial police officials. The entire effort was allegedly ordered by the communications minister.

Following the complaints lodged by residents, the construction activities were brought to a halt. The subsequent demolition of the walls was carried out in accordance with the justice minister's instructions.
