U.S. Embassy in Baghdad Urges American Citizens to Leave Iraq Immediately
BAGHDAD (Afghan Verified) — The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad issued a security warning on Wednesday, alerting American citizens to potential attacks targeting them and U.S.-associated sites in the Iraqi capital within the next 24 to 48 hours.
The embassy specified that possible targets include American citizens, universities, diplomatic facilities, hotels, airports, and other locations linked to the United States. It directed U.S. citizens currently in Iraq to depart the country immediately.
The alert also advised other American citizens against traveling to Iraq amid the heightened threat level in Baghdad.
