UN Official Praises Afghanistan's Counter-Narcotics Achievements

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Munir, deputy minister for counter-narcotics at Afghanistan's Ministry of Interior Affairs, met with Polliak Ok Siri, head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.

During the meeting, Munir stated that the international community should recognize Afghanistan's achievements in combating narcotics and increase assistance accordingly. He called for the provision of advanced scanners to improve border controls.

Ok Siri praised Afghanistan's accomplishments in the fight against narcotics and assured UN cooperation in supplying the requested scanners. He also described the outcomes of the Afghan delegation's participation in the CRIC meeting as positive, noting ongoing efforts to secure an observer role for Afghanistan in the organization.
