Uganda Declared Free of Ebola as Congo Outbreak Continues

Uganda has been officially declared free of the Ebola virus. Health authorities recorded a total of 20 infections during the outbreak. Of these cases two resulted in deaths and 18 patients recovered.

The declaration follows the reduction of active cases to zero. Uganda's response measures successfully contained the spread of the virus.

In the Republic of Congo the situation remains critical. The outbreak has affected 46 health zones across five provinces. Reports show 2,200 cases with 830 deaths and 390 recoveries.

These figures highlight the differing outcomes in the two countries. Congo continues to manage a larger number of infections and deaths.

The contrast between the two nations underscores varying levels of outbreak control. Uganda achieved zero cases while Congo faces ongoing challenges in multiple provinces.
