Two Afghan athletes win bronze medals at Asian Kurash Championships

Two Afghan athletes have won bronze medals at the 15th Asian Kurash Championships in Tajikistan.

Mirajuddin Chakmar secured bronze in the 66 kilogram category after defeating an Indian opponent and losing to a Tajik competitor.

Zabihullah Ahsani claimed bronze in the 81 kilogram category following a victory over a Turkmen athlete and a loss to an Uzbek opponent.

The General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports and Syed Mohammad Zia Dashti, president of the Afghanistan Kurash, Sambo and Traditional Wrestling Federation, confirmed the medal wins.

Six Afghan athletes are competing in the event, which features participants from 28 countries.

Zahir Sarwari in the 100 kilogram category and Abdul Manan Sadat in the 90 kilogram category are scheduled to compete on Sunday.
