Ehsanullah Kamgar, spokesperson for the Badakhshan Provincial Police Command, said 12 people, including men, women and children, were killed and three others seriously injured when a Flancoach-type vehicle veered off the road due to poor road conditions and plunged into a ravine in the Samdar area of Arghanjkhwah district at noon on Saturday. The injured were transferred to health centers, with some in critical condition.

Separately, Arif Adeel, provincial police spokesman in Farah, reported that 10 people, including women and children, were wounded when a bus lost control and collided with a truck on the Herat-Farah highway in Balaboluk district on Tuesday evening. Officials attributed the crash to damaged roads and driver carelessness.

In Helmand province's Nad Ali district, Hafiz Rashid Helmandi, head of the information and culture department, said a child was killed and two people wounded in two separate accidents caused by high-speed driving. In one incident, a rickshaw struck a car, injuring the rickshaw driver and his brother. Authorities arrested one of the drivers.

Amu TV reported a sharp increase in traffic accidents in Helmand, with officials launching public awareness programs to address the issue.
