
Traditional Poetry Symposium Gol Lala Held in Jawzjan Province
A traditional poetry symposium titled Gol Lala was recently convened in Jawzjan province, bringing together literary figures from across the country. The event was organized to promote cultural exchange and provide a platform for poets and writers to share their work.
Mawlawi Amanullah Mustaghfir, head of the Tarannum and Songs Department at the Ministry of Information and Culture, delivered opening remarks at the symposium. He emphasized the importance of literary gatherings in fostering experience sharing and identifying emerging talent within the country literary community. Mawlawi Saifuddin Mo tasem, who heads the Jawzjan Provincial Information and Culture Department, also addressed attendees, highlighting the event role in strengthening cultural ties and preserving traditional poetic forms.
Participants included poets, writers, and authors from Jawzjan, Sar-e Pol, Balkh, Kabul, Kandahar, and several other provinces. Throughout the symposium, attendees recited original literary works and engaged in discussions centered on classical and contemporary Afghan poetry. Organizers noted that the gathering aimed to bridge regional literary traditions while encouraging younger generations to participate in the country cultural heritage.
The Gol Lala symposium reflects ongoing efforts by provincial and national cultural departments to support literary activities and maintain traditional artistic practices. Officials stated that similar events will continue to be facilitated across various regions to ensure sustained engagement with Afghanistan literary community.
