Three TTP Militants Killed, Nine Wounded in Attack on Police Post in Pakistan's Bannu

Three Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants were killed and nine wounded during a midnight attack on the Khuniya Khel police post in Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistani media reported.
TTP fighters launched the assault using heavy weapons in an attempt to seize the facility, but Pakistani police repelled the attack, preventing a takeover.
Bannu has seen frequent security incidents in recent months amid growing instability in the region near the Afghanistan border, with ongoing threats from militant groups.
The United Nations has warned that the TTP, headquartered in Afghanistan, has become a transnational threat, fueling concerns over cross-border militancy and regional security.
Pakistan maintains that the TTP, the largest Pakistan-based militant group, operates from Afghan territory and frequently targets Pakistani security forces and infrastructure, allegations denied by the Taliban.
Authorities in the area are conducting security operations to prevent further attacks and protect key installations.
The UN and Pakistani authorities stress the need for continued counterterrorism efforts and coordinated measures to address the TTP's expanding regional influence.
