Taliban report 110 civilian deaths from Pakistani attacks; UNAMA says 42
KABUL (Afghan Verified) — Taliban deputy spokesman Hamidullah Fitrat announced on Tuesday that 110 civilians, including 65 women and children, were killed in Pakistani attacks across several Afghan provinces.
Speaking at a press conference, Fitrat said 123 others, mostly women and children, were wounded. He specified that strikes targeted homes of ordinary people, mosques, schools, public facilities, and three temporary shelters for returning migrants in the provinces of Kabul, Laghman, Nangarhar, Kunar, Khost, Paktika and Kandahar. The shelters included the Anzargi camp in Kandahar, the Omari camp in Torkham, and camps in Kunar.
The Taliban stated the attacks caused significant financial damage, with 37 houses completely destroyed and 316 others partially damaged. They added that 8,400 families have been displaced since the strikes began.
The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) reported a lower civilian death toll of 42, with more than 100 wounded.
