The Supreme Court of the Taliban announced that it carried out public floggings against multiple individuals in Balkh, Parwan and Kabul provinces.

According to announcements from the Supreme Court, three people including one woman were flogged 39 times each in Balkh for pimping, producing and selling alcohol. Afghanistan International reported that one woman and two men received the punishment in Balkh, while Amu TV specified the charges as pimping, production and sale of alcohol. In Parwan, two people including one woman were flogged 39 times each and sentenced to one to two years in prison for extramarital relations, as stated by the Supreme Court and corroborated by Afghanistan International and Hasht-e Subh.

Hasht-e Subh further reported that in Kabul, five people were sentenced to six months in prison and 15 lashes for gambling, with one additional person receiving 29 lashes. The court emphasized that all punishments were confirmed by it and carried out publicly in the presence of local officials, military personnel, clerics, passersby, court attendees and ordinary people.

Afghanistan International noted that the floggings occurred on the first day of Ramadan. Broader data cited by Amu TV from the Supreme Court showed an increase in corporal punishments, with 71 people flogged in October, 100 in November and 147 in December. A UNAMA report mentioned in Amu TV stated that in the last three months of 2025, the Taliban flogged 287 people including women, and carried out two public executions in Badghis and Khost.

Human rights organizations have expressed concern over these corporal punishments, describing them as violations of human rights and human dignity, according to Hasht-e Subh.
