
Senior Islamic Emirate Diplomat Addresses Joint Afghan-Uzbek Scholars Conference in Tashkent
Sheikh Abdul Ghafar Bahr, the ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to Tashkent, participated in a joint conference of Afghan and Uzbek scholars hosted by the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan.
The conference, titled “The Place of Imam Burhanuddin Marghinani’s Scholarly Heritage in Contemporary Islamic Knowledge," focused on shared intellectual traditions.
During his address, Sheikh Bahr underscored the significance of the shared scholarly and jurisprudential heritage between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. He emphasized that such gatherings strengthen intellectual and religious ties while contributing to building political trust and reinforcing bilateral relations.
The ambassador described Imam Burhanuddin Marghinani, author of the book Al-Hidayah, as a proponent of moderate thought and balanced perspectives. He noted that enhancing scientific and academic cooperation could lay a stronger foundation for mutual understanding, regional stability, and constructive bilateral engagement between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
The event highlights ongoing efforts to foster academic and cultural exchanges between the two neighboring countries, building on historical scholarly connections.
