Security Forces Arrest 40 Suspects on Drug Trafficking, Criminal Charges in Four Provinces
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- Security forces arrested 40 individuals on drug trafficking and other criminal charges in Herat, Ghazni, Khost and Farah provinces, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement on X.
In Herat, counter-narcotics police detained 24 suspects for drug trafficking and sales, seizing more than 1 kilogram of hashish, opium and methamphetamine along with 1,201 intoxicating tablets.
Six other individuals were arrested in Herat on theft charges.
In Ghazni province, two people were detained on moral corruption charges and one for illegal possession of weapons.
One suspect was arrested for theft in Khost province, while four individuals faced detention in Farah on theft charges.
The arrests were announced by the Ministry of Interior as part of ongoing security operations targeting narcotics and criminal networks across the provinces.
