The Taliban Ministry of Defense said it had carried out airstrikes against centers affiliated with ISIS in Pakistan's Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. This claim was made public through official channels of the group. The strikes were said to target sites linked to the militant organization.

Pakistan's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting rejected the assertion that any such airstrikes or drone attacks took place on Pakistani territory. Officials in Pakistan said that camps used by terrorist groups, including ISIS, are based in parts of Afghanistan that are under Taliban control. They maintained that these camps are supported from those areas.

Sami Sadat issued a strong condemnation of the Taliban's claimed actions. In a post on the social media platform X, he said the moves and related statements could provoke a large-scale military response from Pakistan. He added that this could put Afghan civilians in danger. Sami Sadat also noted concerns about the Taliban's capacity to handle the consequences.

Sami Sadat further pointed to the Taliban's history of supporting militant groups such as the TTP and al-Qaeda. He suggested that the Taliban does not have the capability or the intention to safeguard Afghan civilians from potential fallout.

The Taliban Ministry of Defense said that Afghanistan is prepared to use all available means to remove any threats to its security. This statement was issued in response to ongoing security concerns.

Reliability assessment

Single source but reports direct on-record statements from named parties: Sami Sadat (X account), Taliban Ministry of Defense, and Pakistan Ministry of Information and Broadcasting with specific locations and attributions

The source language mixes facts with framing or advocacy wording. Afghanistan International: "dangerous and irresponsible" actions; "has neither the ability nor the will to protect Afghan civilians"; "turned Afghanistan into a battlefield and put the lives of millions of innocent Afghans at risk" — these phrases use strong negative judgment and emotional framing to portray the Taliban as reckless and harmful.
