Russian intelligence accuses UK and France of planning secret nuclear transfers to Ukraine
Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) claimed that Britain and France are planning to secretly transfer nuclear equipment to Ukraine, disguising it as domestic Ukrainian development. The SVR statement, cited by Kommersant, indicated that Europeans intend to equip Ukraine with a "wonder weapon," while Berlin has refused to participate in the "dangerous" action. Specific components mentioned include the French TN75 warhead unit for the M51.1 submarine-launched ballistic missile, along with parts, equipment, and related technologies.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the alleged plans as a "blatant violation of all standards and principles of international law." According to TASS, Peskov noted that London and Paris believe nuclear arms would give Ukraine better conditions to end the conflict. Russia's parliament has called for parliamentary investigations, and officials have urged international and national probes by the United Nations, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty review conference.
The SVR warned that Britain and France cannot evade responsibility for potentially violating the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, stating that "whatever is hidden will one day be revealed." No official reactions have been reported from British or French authorities.
