A Reuters report indicates that Baloch insurgents have bolstered their operational strength in part through access to US military equipment left behind in Afghanistan.

The Baloch Liberation Army recently conducted coordinated attacks across multiple areas in Balochistan, targeting Pakistani military facilities and inflicting heavy casualties. Pakistani officials stated that security forces killed dozens of militants in response, while confirming deaths among soldiers and civilians during the clashes.

Officials and analysts noted that insurgents are increasingly using women in suicide missions to attract attention, expand recruitment, and amplify propaganda impact. Pakistan’s military reported recovering hundreds of US-made weapons and night-vision devices from militants, highlighting their access to advanced equipment.

Violence in the resource-rich but underdeveloped Balochistan province has intensified over the past year, heightening concerns over regional stability and major foreign investment projects. Islamabad has repeatedly accused militant groups of operating from Afghan territory, a claim denied by Taliban authorities, amid ongoing tensions over regional security.

The report suggests that the militants' growing capabilities and evolving recruitment strategies could exacerbate Pakistan’s long-running insurgency in Balochistan if security conditions deteriorate further.
