
Reconstruction Work on Three Historic Buildings in Kabul to Begin
KABUL (Afghan Verified) - The Ministry of Information and Culture announced that reconstruction work on Shahrara Tower, the Amir Dost Mohammad Khan School building, and the Tomb of Sultan Talai on Nader Khan Hill in Kabul will begin in the near future.
Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Culture and Arts, visited Shahrara Tower accompanied by a technical delegation, officials, and a team from the Aga Khan Cultural Foundation.
Azizi described Shahrara Tower as one of the country's important historical monuments, stating that its preservation and reconstruction require special attention to safeguard cultural heritage.
The ministry is committed to initiating reconstruction on the tower in coordination with partner institutions to prevent its destruction, he said. A technical team has examined the tower's current condition and conducted necessary assessments to ensure standardized restoration efforts.
Reconstruction work on the Amir Dost Mohammad Khan High School building and the Tomb of Sultan Talai on Nader Khan Hill will also begin in the coming days, allowing these historical and educational monuments to be preserved and restored.
The historic Shahrara Tower is regarded as one of Afghanistan's key cultural assets, holding significant historical and tourism value.
