A police officer was killed in a targeted shooting by unidentified gunmen in the Boya area of Upper South Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. Pakistani security officials reported that the attack occurred on Sunday, with the slain officer, a local resident of Shakai district, fatally shot while two family members—his father and brother—sustained serious injuries and are receiving medical treatment.

Deputy Commandant Asghar Ali Shah confirmed the officer was the brother of Mohammad Jan Wazir, a political secretary in Lower South Waziristan. The attackers fled the scene immediately, and no group has claimed responsibility.

South Waziristan has faced recurring security challenges, including targeted attacks on law enforcement personnel, amid efforts to maintain stability in the region. Local authorities have heightened security measures in the district to prevent further incidents and protect civilians and police.
