Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif Describes Taliban as Unreliable, Declares Open War Begun
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif described the Taliban in Afghanistan as "unreliable and representative of India," stating they have deprived their people of human rights and stripped women of their rights.
In a post on X on Thursday night, Asif said that after the withdrawal of NATO forces, the Taliban were expected to focus on the interests of the Afghan people and regional security. Instead, he claimed, the group has turned the country into a hub for gathering terrorists and exporting terrorism.
Asif added that Islamabad has sought to normalize the situation through direct actions and extensive diplomacy, but accused the Taliban of acting on behalf of India with intentions to aggress against Pakistan. He emphasized that Pakistani forces are now providing a decisive response.
He noted that Pakistan previously hosted five million Afghan citizens and currently supports hundreds of thousands living there, but stated that Pakistan's patience has now overflowed.
Asif warned: "Open war has begun and our forces have not come from the sea; we are your neighbor and we know your position."
These remarks coincide with reports of several explosions and airstrikes in Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktia provinces. Pakistani forces reportedly targeted Taliban military facilities in these areas during an operation named "Ghadab al-Haqq," with reports indicating dozens of Taliban members killed.
